Valmiki Ashram

Valmiki Ashram temple is situated in the Chitwan district of Nepal, Valmiki Ashram belongs to Chitwan district Madi municipality-1, close to the Triveni Dham where Tamasa, Sona, and Sapta Gandaki rivers. But it is not easy to go there, due to there was no direct route from the Nepali land, we have to cross the Gandak bridge connecting Nawalparasi, and India to reach Valmiki Ashram. Strict surveillance by the Indian Border Security Force, fear of wild animals, etc.

Maharishi Valmiki is associated with Lord Ram of the Treta Yuga. Maharishi Valmiki attained enlightenment here through penance. It is believed that he wrote the Ramayana while sitting here. It is believed that after Ram's unfaithfulness in the Treta Yuga, Sita went to exile here for the second time and gave birth to Lava, Kusha.

Valmiki's Ashram is considered a great pilgrimage site by Indians as much evidence related to Maharishi Valmiki, Sita, and Lava, Kusha has been preserved. The Chief Ministers of Vihar, Uttar Pradesh state of India have also reached here. King Mahendra took some families and settlements here, managing the priests from the construction of the temple. Even now, 14 families are living here.
